Premium Physiotherapy offer hip & pelvis treatment for residents in Research.
The hip and pelvis are unique areas of the body to injure. The junction between the spine and the lower limb has a complex muscular arrangement that requires thorough assessment and accurate exercise prescription to achieve the best results with treatment. Hip and pelvis injuries, occurring both through sport and regular day to day activities, can be quite disabling. Trochanteric Bursitis and Hip Joint Impingement are among the many conditions managed using physiotherapy at Premium Physiotherapy.
A bursa is a fluid filled sac that cushions muscle and tendon from bone. Trochanteric bursitis is when the bursa on the outside of your hip becomes inflamed and swollen, causing localised pain that may radiate towards your groin. The hip pain is aggravated by weight bearing activity such as walking and running. It is typically worse at night, especially when lying on the affected hip. It is also painful when getting up after prolonged sitting.
Hip impingement is also known as femoro-acetabular impingement (FAI). This condition results in abnormal contact between the head or neck of the femur on the acetabulum (socket) of the pelvis. There are 3 types of FAI.
